I was wondering when we were getting more rain simply because we haven't had much since the Flooding rain and power outages all over northern California of December 23rd to December 26th which was just in time for 8 guests here for Christmas and stories for children to tell in school about living through their first power outage. Luckily, we have a generator so at least we didn't lose 1500 to 2000 dollars worth of food in our refrigerators there for Christmas for all these people. We have one refrigerator in our Garage in addition to our one in the kitchen that we bought during an even bigger Christmas Gathering several years ago now.
Then this last week we also had the first real rain since then of a few days of rain on and off. However, this looks to be a much more serious storm coming next to this area and much of Northern California this time.
We can get 75 to 100 mph gusts of wind off the ocean which one year blew down at least 100 pine trees on golf courses nearby which is a lot especially if they come down on power lines or block roads where people cannot get into and out of their houses or properties with their cars. However, so far I think the one around Christmas that created more power outages in this county than I have ever seen before at one time was about 75 mph gusts off the ocean. These gust usually are out of the south or south west or the north as storms tend to go from West to east generally speaking across the U.S.
So, it's good we are getting more rain because there wasn't a lot of rain during January at all even though the storm before that flooded most of California out pretty good.
