I was wondering how they got this picture because drones and motorized aircraft didn't exist then. So, either they took this with a telephoto lens from the top of a mountain or they were in a hot air balloon one of the two. Hot Air balloons existed from the 1700s I believe because I have seen drawings of them over France and England then.
