Many people have multiple relationships but most have one relationship at a time. Even I found even during 1969 and 1970 when free love was at it's peak that having two girlfriends at the same time was a really bad idea. I had a girlfriend who was 16 (this was acceptable back then if her parents were okay with this) and I had a girlfriend who was 35 at the time. But, even with all the free love stuff in California I learned the hard way you shouldn't ever have more than one girlfriend at a time. Why?
First of all the reason you shouldn't do this is the women you are seeing might kill each other. The 2nd reason is if you are dating more than one person either you tell them or they find out and then they will be dating more than one person too and this might be a problem for you.
So, this was my very rude awakening as a young man about multiple relationships at the same time. I had learned my lesson and always only dated one person at a time ever after.
But then, you have people like the Bhagavan in Tiger King with 8 women that he is supporting at the same time. On one level if the women don't all kill each other the first month I suppose it might all work out.
My wife and I both dated many people and I was married twice before and we both had traveled around the world and experienced other cultures a lot. So, we were really grateful to find another world traveler that wasn't as one dimensional as most people are who live in the same place and never go anywhere outside the U.S.
So, I'm ecstatically happy not to deal with 8 girlfriends thank you very much. It was hard enough going from girlfriend to girlfriend from ages 15 to 25 when I married the first time.
Life is crazy enough! You don't need to make it even crazier by being involved in 8 relationships at the same time!
Especially now with coronavirus where any of them could infect you or you could infect any of them and accidentally kill people you love!
