I was sitting in my hot tub outside in the sun near sundown watching a hummingbird in a nearby pine tree and wondering what it was doing there? I decided to ask the question: "Do hummingbirds pollinate pine trees?" The answer I got back surprised me a lot. It turns out that Ruby Throated Hummingbirds that live nearby me like to nest in pine trees. I also didn't know that they eat insects too from pine trees. I thought they only ate pollen from flowers. You learn something new every day! This humming bird was at least 40 feet up into the tree which also surprised me a lot too!
