This would have been me and my wife and three older children trekking in Nepal in the Helambu region near the Nepal-Tibet Border. The Border between Tibet and Nepal is basically the high Himalayan peaks which are physically impassable to most people.
We had been trekking our first day from the nearest bus to that remote region without any roads (even dirt ones then in likely February or March 1986 when I thought I was seeing things as it was dusk and I was carrying my backpack into a village where we would spend the night. Even though there are no roads because they would all wash away in the Himalayas during Monsoon season in the summers there are trails and suspension bridges and during this trek we crossed maybe 100 of these many suspension bridges over rivers and streams and canyons in the Himalayas. So, as I walked into this village I thought I was seeing things because as the sun set there were all these sparkly things in the air. Eventually I realized they were Himalayan Fireflies which though I was exhausted from trekking all day I was happy to have this amazing experience in the Himalayas with my family and our guide.
Later, about 13 years later I experienced Fireflies in Virginia In I believe Williamsburg where they have a historical place with people dressed up like in Revolutionary times in the 1700s.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
