What we know for sure about the Cruise missile with unlimited range is that it is a nuclear powered engine which means it spews dirty bomb radiation out of the back of it's nuclear powered jet engine making radioactive everything in it's path. So, if it were ever used everyone beneath the vapor trail likely would either get very sick or die within a few months time.
So, it literally IS a doomsday weapon leaving death and destruction in it's path. You don't even need to explode the nuke when you are going to eventually kill everyone underneath the thing going by within a few months to a year later from dirty bomb level radiation.
