492 new cases of coronavirus in U.S. just today

So, we just had more new cases than we had over the whole country a little over a week before.

The total number of cases is 3535 so let's use 500 and divide that into 3535 so this means our cases just jumped 7.07 times in a little over 9 or 10 days.

at our present rate of increase if this stays consistent this means that we should expect at least a 7 times more increase in the next 10 days too what is 7 times 3535?

7 times 3535 is 24,745 cases within 10 days.
lets go out not 10 days now to 20 days.

7 times 24,745 is 173,215 people with coronavirus and this is a realistic expectation given how Trump has run this thing so far. So, how far will it go like this?

to 1 million to 2 million? or even further?

This is the problem of how Trump has handled all this so far.

So, at our present rate of increase it is feasible that we will have 173,215 or 200,000 cases here in the U.S. spread over 50 states within 20 days time. This is realistic at our present rate of increase. Will it be higher or lower?

Hard to say at this point.

2 hours later: cases jumped from 492 to 702 new cases just today.
