Historically the title is true. However, humans might have also screwed this up to the point where Terra forming (oceans, lands and sea and air) might be the only way for us to survive here on earth.
It is unknown whether this global warming will create another ice age. This is the way it normally occurs. The increasing temperatures also increase the winds progressively but these temperatures begin to warm the oceans like they are now over most or all of the earth. This makes evaporation increasingly likely so much more water evaporates into clouds than before in an ever increasing way. This also increases the wind strength in hurricanes and tornadoes and in all storms as well. Then the increasing heat makes the Polar Vortexes wobble which brings much colder than normal air down further toward the equator which creates all sorts of changes to weather patterns too. So, it causes much more rain some places but also much less rain other places in ever increasing changes to weather patterns all over since every change affects every other change on the planet in an ongoing dance I guess worldwide.
So, the end result is "IF WE ARE LUCKY WE WILL GET AN ICE AGE". Otherwise it is basically the end of life on the surface of the planet unless we all start living underground because otherwise it will be just too hot to live on the surface of the planet for animals and people and plants otherwise.
Because even during an Ice age there is no ice at the equator just from about Texas north here in the U.S. So, even during an ice age it might be possible to live in places like Southern Texas, California and Florida and Hawaii if you were near enough to the oceans. And likely the ice age would start on the west coast at the Sierra Nevada and Cascade Range and be continuously east to the Appalachian Mountains and north to the north pole.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
