My friends in Mt. Shasta have had this one and it is a doozy but it isn't coronavirus. I remember during the 1980s when flus were this bad and we had one that we called "The hairy cough" because it felt like you had a hair down your throat and one time all 5 members of my family then (3 kids the wife and I) were all sick and throwing up at the same time. It was pretty awful because we only had one bathroom then. That's about as bad as I remember a flu being then in Mt. Shasta.
One friend had this sickness more than once after being hospitalized last fall for a serious operation in the last couple of months. Another friend who thought he was healthy was scared because he couldn't really breathe right when he got this flu recently. So, even if you don't get the coronavirus the regular flu going around is pretty scary. I would advise anyone who hasn't already gotten a flu shot to get one now even though normally it's late in the season for flu.
Another thing one of the sickest times physically of my whole life was when I was around 22 years old and got the flu. When you are young you think you are immortal and I had just pushed too hard in college and burned the candle at both ends so when I got the flu from being run down I almost died. This was the first time as an adult I actually felt mortal and I have changed the way I have behaved ever since because I realized I almost was dying from the flu at 22. So, this is the way we grow up if we actually survive to 25 or 30 to begin with.
When you are 71 often you look back at all the near death experiences you had along the way.
