Most cases in hospitals aren't being reported to news outlets. Why?

I think it is mostly about security for those hospitals nationwide now. When cases are reported it makes some people nuts and then security has to be hired to protect those hospitals. So, it is easier for the government only to report cases that can be guarded by national guard or military bases because this is one of the problems of pandemics worldwide is people panicking at certain points and freaking out and causing harm to patients in an area or country. The patients once infected cannot protect themselves and so most will remain anonymous for their safety should they recover.

For example, The nearest hospital to me has at least 4 coronavirus patients and yet this hasn't been reported in the news and likely won't be. Doesn't this put at risk this area for more cases? Likely, but it also protects the present patients from harm from crazies in the area. The same is true of a hospital 20 miles from where I live where there are coronavirus patients and those aren't being reported to the press either. The only way you will know is from nurses and orderlies who work at hospital and not from news outlets. This is a way of protecting the public by keeping them away from infected patients when security isn't wanted for the hospital beyond what they already have available.

So, both in China and the U.S. and in other places the number of infected people is likely at least 10 times what is actually reported in the news or more.

For example, at least 3 members of the federal government in Iran have already died of Coronavirus. So, obviously it is pretty bad there. As people start dying in our government we will understand more that it is pretty bad here too.

At least one member of the Italian Government has Coronavirus too but none that I know have have died from it yet.
