Religions are about Faith Not Truth

However, if you actually want to study about truth then you go to philosophy. And from philosophy came all the sciences. But, religion is about faith not truth.

There is a true story about a tribe in South America that believed that a pole set into the ground in the middle of their tribal village was God. And so for centuries they prayed to the pole God in the middle of their village. Well, the termites liked this pole too so one day they ate the pole up to the point where it fell over and most of the people sat down stopped eating and over the next month died.

This is one illustration of faith not based upon truth. But, since everyone was brainwashed from birth that this pole was God when it fell over their world ended just like that.

So, if you are going to start a religion at least start with philosophy so your people don't have an experience somewhat like this one 100 or 1000 years from now.

If you at least start with a search for Truth you might get somewhere in life and your children might get somewhere in life too and so on and so on.

Asking questions helps you find truth. But, every truth you find will lead to more questions. So, searching for truth is also never ending and this makes some people crazy so they move over to faith because they just cannot deal with the truth of never ending questions and answers into infinity.

I find that life is an adventure and discovering new things about life gives it meaning. Other people want everything fixed and immutable and unmoving. But, that isn't the way life really is. So, they invent religions to make them feel more secure and to make money convincing other people of those same things. This is the nature of all religions in the end. They are only really about money.

However, spirituality and enlightenment are real too. So, you can move towards spirituality and enlightenment through education and traveling the world and meeting other people also. Meeting people of various religions and philosophies will help you to understand yourself better and what is important in your life too.

When we ONLY believe what everyone in our home town believes for hundreds or thousands of years then we are very "Provincial" in our belief systems and often judgmental of all other systems of belief.

The world is full of people like this who never go anywhere or do anything outside of where they grew up.

However, the people that create peace and prevent wars and allow people to live together in peace on earth are not like this. They get educated and travel and become very diverse in their belief systems in order to not blow the whole planet up with nukes.

So, people who create peace and understanding worldwide are always the most needed so Earth doesn't just nuke out one day.
