Watching the movie video of our marriage in 1995 in Yosemite National Park at the Chapel then was a mixed bag for me I realize now. On the one hand it is good to see myself and my wife with no gray hair and this was mostly true of all my friends too who are still alive.
But, it was hard to see my best friend from childhood (we met in church when I was 6) who passed away in 2006 from a heart attack and it was hard to see my mother still alive who passed away in 2008 and it was hard to see both my wife's parents and stepfather all gone now too. However, my son who took the movie of our wedding who was in his early 20s then is still alive in Oregon and is 50 years old now and is married with a 10 year old son too.
So, looking back at this 30 year old getting married video is bittersweet because of all these things. The best part is we are all alive and our children are all still alive and doing okay.
