Why?
Because 4 to 6 feet of sand was gone where I like to walk down from the road to the beach and I realized it wasn't going to work at my age to go rock climbing with my dog to get down to the beach today. However, it still was a beautiful day and sunny and around 60 degrees which was nice because it wasn't too windy. However, I realized walking at least there on the beach wasn't going to work today because 4 to 6 feet vertically of sand had washed away during the King tides.
This time of year you can lose up to 10 to 15 feet vertically of Sand which then starts to rebuild after most of the storms pass by April or May. Then by November or December the Sand washes away again until the next summer. So, week by week it looks like an entirely different place depending upon what rocks are up and what rocks are buried under the potentially deep sand.
