I did take the dog to the beach today

What was unusual about today was the King Tides (which are the highest and lowest tides of the year). When I went it happened to be the lowest tide to where I could literally walk 100 yards further into the ocean and still still keep my feet dry which was a strange experience.

However, flooding will likely occur at the high tides when the rain meets in the rivers the ocean at high tide. One area near us very expensive homes may flood at the mouth of a river. However, we are up on a hill so at least 100 to 200 feet in elevation here (we bought this house so it could survive larger Tsunamis which could easily take out houses below 100 feet in altitude here in California.

Because we live on the Ring of Fire if you study the 2004 Indonesia earthquake which killed about 250,000 people in Indonesia, Thailand and India and a big island off of India you know what I'm talking about. So, preparing for a Tsunami (even just to know when to run away to save your life) is especially important anywhere on a coast on the Pacific Ocean because of large Earthquakes which can happen literally anywhere on the Ring of Fire which can cause very large tsunamis that can kill thousands of people like in 2004. Even the 2011 one in Japan killed somewhere between 11,000 and 30,000 people and caused the Fukushima Power plant to have three nuclear meltdowns.

the other interesting thing today was that there were thousands of what looked a little like pink fingers on the beach which are listed here:
