We were soooo lucky this morning

As I walked outside we have power and therefore Heat and lights and Cable TV and Streaming and our refrigerators are working without a generator.

However, as I took our dog out to do her business I was trying to figure out what I was listening to. I finally realized it was 100s of gasoline powered generators running in the background within a mile or more of us because we are in one of the few sections of where we live that still has power which is good because my wife is still trying to recover from an operation. Otherwise, we would have had to move into a hotel if she was willing to do this. I still know people without power since 5 am this morning and it is now almost midnight Saturday night.

I got into the hot tub this afternoon after the huge pine tree almost destroyed it. Luckily I had an old foam lid to the hot tub that had soaked up water and I had put off getting a new (non-water soaked foam lid) but by waiting like I did when the tree came down it dented the water soaked old foam lid and dented one sections of it pretty good but it also kept the tree from completely destroying my hot tub sort of like Bubble Wrap protects things shipped through the mail. Only in this case a 2 to 3 foot through pine tree coming down (the top of it) on top of my Hot Tub outside. Luckily, our landscaper sent a crew to pick up the pieces of terra cota pottery broken and to cut up the 2 to 3 foot diameter tree and branches in to piles so we can now walk again through our back yard and onto our deck.

I guess the 33 mile per hour constant winds and up to 78 mile per hour gusts took this tree and many others down which is why there are so many generators running in the distance at midnight Saturday Night.

Thank you God for letting us still have power so we still have heating and lighting and refrigeration and everything else.

By God's Grace
