Because the U.S. has military bases within striking distance of Iran without even going to Israel to strike back.
Also, an Iranian Bomb enclosed in Lead that is atomic could be transported by land or by air or even by Sea to detonate in Israel. Even a Dirty Bomb that makes an area like Tel Aviv uninhabitable is possible now that likely wasn't before.
When the government itself of Iran is threatened for it's own existence like now almost anything is now possible including parts of Israel permanently uninhabitable during this present conflict.
IF this continues likely the U.S,, Russia, Europe and many other countries (possibly even China somehow) could be drawn into this conflict in one way or another.
This is moving towards a complete disaster for everyone on earth.
