We had never stayed there before and had usually stayed in Beaverton area which is a suburb of Portland to visit my kids. My two daughters lived here first but now one of them is living in Texas and the other one presently is living with her husband in Europe.
This time my wife found accommodations in Lake Oswego and my wife likes it enough where she wants to look at a house here. However, the weather most of the year won't work for me because I don't do well where it rains all the time like Portland and Seattle for 9 months a year and then it can be really hot in the summers here too. So, it goes from light snow in the winters to hot and sometimes humid during the summers. However, it is Green Green Green with plenty of lakes and streams everywhere including the large Willamette River which empties into the biggest river on the west coast which is the Columbia River just north of Portland. Portland actually is entirely built just south of the Columbia river mostly on or near the fairly large Willamette River too.
However, I do like the weather in the summers here and it's also true my son and his 11 year old son and his wife live here too in the Portland area.
