So far, the waves are not over 3 feet high. However, this isn't a normal wave in the ocean but the whole ocean rises 3 feet onto the land and stays like that for awhile until it all rushes back out to sea at some point minutes or more later. So, hopefully campers who didn't have radios or cell phones with cell service won't be washed out to sea when the whole ocean rises 3 feet or more in one of these smaller tsunamis. In Japan they had over 3 meter waves and a meter is 39.37 inches so that means approximately 9 feet of water where the whole ocean lifted up 9 feet and went inland if it could as long as it could at this 9 feet level. This could still happen in Hawaii but so far it hasn't and so far there is no loss of life like there has been many times before in Hawaii over the years from Tsunamis.
