I have never heard a satisfactory definition of What a Technological Singularity actually is?

Though I understand the concept since it has never happened before how would anyone really know if and when it happened?

This is my thought about it. For example, Artificial intelligence currently is likely more intelligent than the 8.2 billion people on earth all combined.

Is that the singularity?

However, what is artificial intelligence but a series of advanced algorithms?

And algorithm is not a human mind with instincts and intuition and human logic and reason and emotions all together.

So, even if it is more intelligent already than 8.2 billion people who presently live on earth until it actually decides to do something with that intelligence other than what it is doing now no one will even know what is going on even the programmers of this intelligence!

There is no way to know when things are going to change or if they are going to change or how they are going to change (not really).

It's sort of like throwing a bunch of steel  ball bearings into the air and hoping one of them doesn't hit you in the head and kill you.

It's actually sort of like that.
