"There's a disturbance in the Force, Luke"

People here pretty much freaked out yesterday and last night and into the day until the all clear came on board and the end (at least for now) of evacuation orders. We don't know if winds come up and hit exposed coaling roots that it couldn't take off again. But, at least for the most part we might be sort of okay from the Roots fire in Mt. Shasta. I was worried last night because I could smell smoke and worried that I might have to pack up and leave earlier than I wanted. However, the sky was mostly free of major smoke except against the Trinity mountains where it sort of hung out at places like Mt. Eddy and the other side of Lake Siskiyou and maybe up at Castle Lake some. Breathing smoke at altitude if you are older than 45 or 50 might not be good for your lungs. So, be careful if you go up to around 6000 feet you don't get smoke inhalation and have to go to a hospital to be put on oxygen for a night or 24 hours. So, be careful of smoke in the air if you are older or smoke sensitive at any age.

Today you could feel the energy be pretty tweaked out like I said in the title where people were afraid both Dunsmuir and Mt. Shasta city were going to possibly burn down. This would have been extremely expensive for everyone to recover from.

Weed, just north of Mt. Shasta was burned down about 50% of the structures there a few years ago and might never recover because it devastated that place in the extreme (at least for now).

Also, there likely is a lot more people who have insurance on their houses and businesses in Mt. Shasta than Weed also. This could be a factor too. If you don't have insurance on your properties you usually cannot rebuild anything unless you are very wealthy with deep pockets.

So, at least for now, Dunsmuir and Mt. Shasta City have dodged the bullet so to speak regarding the Root Fire.
