We have been gone a month now to North Carolina for a wedding and in Austria and Germany and our dog is having a problem

Where she was staying with a family with two children I think she got attached to them too much and where we live in a forest there are all sorts of forest creatures, everything from wild forest rats to skunks to raccoons and even Mountain lions wandering around at night in addition to the many many deer here that the mountain lions often feed on. We have had doorbell camera sightings of a mated pair of mountain lions at night hunting within a block or two of us for example. I have seen the video and it spooked my wife a lot to think that there is a hunting pair of mountain lions coming near our homes. It's not that they can get into any of the homes here. They would have to be bears to do that that can rip doors off of cars or trucks or buildings like I have seen before in Yosemite national  park first hand. There are likely bears here too in the mountains a little inland where it is completely wild even more wild than here.

So, our dog is barking a lot and my wife is so exhausted from Jet lag she is sleeping through all this unlike me where I am waking up with the dog barking the last couple of hours. anyway, life goes on.

In a city next to us in the last year or so a bear came into the city and people were kind of freaking out. So, the police shot the bear with a tranquilizer dart but the problem was that the bear was up in a tree. So, when they shot the bear with the dart the bear fell out of the tree too far and died. So much for the bear. I bet the police felt bad about that.
