I Am the Forest?

I was watching one of the last episodes of "Alaskan Bush Family" on Cable TV
and Billy Brown the Dad (likely somewhere between 50 and 65 "it's sort of hard to tell) has been having seizures in the bush. I don't want to spoil the end of this season if you want to see it.

And one of his statements is, "I am the Forest"

And I could relate to this. It's sort of like, "I'm not civilization, I am the forest because I am a part of the forest. Civilization is an art form that people try to make you take seriously, when in reality it is only an art form that people have gotten used to."

All the rules of civilization are not basic human rules of survival. They all have been adapted for people to kill each other less while living around a whole lot of people.

However, "I AM the forest" always has made sense to me.

I sort of see all civilization a lot like a video game, you can choose to participate in the video game or not. It's your choice always.

So, the people who don't realize that they have a choice are the real prisoners here on earth.

In actuality we all have a choice. However, whatever you choose there ARE extreme consequences but I have found it is possible to go back and forth between worlds at different times in my life successfully. Even though I haven't chosen to live 10 miles from then nearest gas station or store or place with AC electricity now full time since 1985. Still the times when I lived the most remote filled my heart with the most amazing memories of Fairy Diddle flying squirrels, bears, deer, Port Orford Cedar Trees, Pine trees, Oak trees, running springs of water, beautiful views of Mt. Shasta, and all the things that I found made being alive worthwhile.  A mortgage, being a slave to a corporation etc. isn't my idea of life and living. Being in the wilderness and home schooling your children so they are actually people rather than adversaries is wonderful. Public School destroys most people and makes them dysfunctional in a variety of ways in some ways like War with PTSD.

I'd rather have my children grow up to be self actualizing entrepreneurs with college educations capable of creating any life they want to live here on earth rather than growing up thinking like slaves to a large corporation that is polluting and destroying the earth while lying through advertisements to the public. However, that's just me.
