Snow Goose Migrating through Northern California Coast?

I think today while I was soaking my back in the Hot Tub outside on the Redwood deck I saw a single Snow Goose at a distance. It was a large bird with the flying pattern of a Canadian goose but with different markings. Instead it had black wings with a completely white body. So, I went to the Internet and this is what I believe I saw. Though a  Pelican has a similar coloration it flies different and has a much bigger bill and tends to glide more and doesn't flap it's wings much unless it is ascending to altitude. Then it just glides along the beaches in groups usually waiting to spy fish or just sort of going "hang gliding" in groups of 7 to 10 birds or more.

I see Pelicans all the time gliding along the beaches catching updrafts from the small cliffs with air blowing from the ocean up over the cliffs and onto the lands. But, this was something different today.
