The Problem

To me, the problem once again is micro versus macro. In other words in theory if you took everyone's guns away in the U.S. everyone would be safer. Yes?

Wrong.

Here's the problem. As an Intuitive I can tell you that if the American Public were not armed the world would already be completely a dictatorship like under Stalin or Mao or Hitler. It's a complete no brainer for me.

Here is the question: "What keeps people safe from living under a dictatorship or worse?"

The ONLY thing that makes people safe is an armed populace.

Who protects Europe, England, North and South America, Japan and India from having their democracies of the world from being overrun by Russia or China or terrorists?

The answer: "U.S. citizens owning guns."

Why?

Because any country that attacked the U.S. would have to be completely insane because of how armed America presently is. Everyone who survived an attack initially would become a sniper taking out whoever attacked us even if our armies and navies were gone.

So, who protects the democracies of the world from becoming dictatorships?

The American people who are armed and their military's who are armed and that's all.

Otherwise, the free world would not now exist at all.

This is logical if you study this.

Most people however, are not looking realistically at all this.

Could the U.S. EVER have been created without an armed populace picking off British soldiers one by one as snipers from 1776 on to the end of the Revolutionary War?

No.

Could the U.S. still be a democracy and world democracies exist without the U.S. military and an armed  U.S. populace?

NO!

This is reality.

Though it might be nice if less people have weapons that children offed themselves with, they are also the ONLY reason our democracy exists at all on a macro level. One thing can be true on an individual micro level and the opposite can be true at a macro level simultaneously. It is a similar situation to abortion. I don't think anyone who thinks abortion is a good thing, it's just a social necessity for the world not to all die in overpopulation. Everyone thinks birth control is a much better idea than abortion. However, abortion is a last ditch effort to prevent babies no one wants to grow up as terrorists or criminals from abuse while growing up. So, abortion is horrific on an individual level but the Earth would be gone already I believe if we didn't have it too.

People who say different are living in a fairy tale and haven't traveled the world and actually seen how bad things really are a lot of places.

Who thinks all guns should be taken out of the hands of the American people?

People who don't have passports and have never seen how bad the rest of the world actually is and who are not pragmatic or realistic about human physical survival anywhere.

And unfortunately, 70% of the American people have never had a passport and never will have one.

So, if and when we give up the 2nd Amendment "Right to Bear Arms"  just expect a U.S. and world Dictatorship to happen within 50 to 75 years with no rights for anyone worldwide.

This is the actual reality we live in and anything else is a fairy tale. I wish reality were not this way but this is the way things always have been here on earth and likely always will be.
