Made it to Yosemite National Park
My wife and I decided last week that we wanted to see the waterfalls this spring because it's a gangbusters year for snow and water. And as we drove up 140 into the Park we saw the Merced River pretty much busting it's banks. It's starting to rain here now and people working here said we also might see snow falling either on the rocks of places like Glacier Point or El Capitan or possibly even here in Yosemite Valley. Yosemite Falls is so loud you can easily hear it from much of the Valley because there is so much water coming over the Falls. So far it hasn't got below about 57 today. So, I guess we will see what weather the next few days bring. But, it's great to be up here in Yosemite Valley. I consider Yosemite National Park and the Mt. Shasta area two of the biggest spiritual power points in California along with the Ocean and High Sierras mountain range. I called up a weathermap online and it shows it snowing above about 7000 feet already. I hope all the backpackers in the Sierras prepared for this eventuality of rain and snow this late in the year.
