I had the orange plastic one you see for about 5 dollars or so way back when to save money camping in Yosemite while rock climbing there around 1969 and 1970. I would have been there with friends climbing mostly between ages 21 and 22 then. $5 to $7.80 actually. So, when 3 of us traveled back to Los Angeles County and Palos Verdes where 2 of us lived then one person had to take turns laying on top of all our gear stored in the back seat (climbing ropes, pitons, harnesses, etc. and sleeping bags, food etc. warm clothes and the rest. I had a 1966 Seablue colored VW Bug and my friend had an Oval Window 1959 Bug which got incredible mileage but was very slow because of only having 36 horsepower then. My 1966 VW Bug had 50 horsepower and could cruise at about 75 miles per hour long distance but the 59 Bug was much slower then but got incredible mileage too. My 1966 got about 30 miles per gallon at 17 cents a gallon which was pretty incredible back then too. The minimum wage was about $1.17 an hour or something back then while I was in college. I asked and it said
