Masks regarding coronavirus

Mostly masks are to prevent you giving coronavirus to someone else. They really might not protect you from getting this disease  because even if you aren't breathing it you can get it on your hands and easily infect yourselves that way. Think about how many times you move your hands to your mouth or eyes or face every single day if you want to better understand what I'm saying here.

Also, if someone is wearing a mask you might not want to shake their hands either because you don't know immediately whether they are protecting you from them (like a doctor or nurse would) or just wearing a mask out of ignorance thinking the mask will prevent them from getting coronavirus which it won't if their hands get sneezed on by an infected person or if they shake hands with a carrier (who might never get it) who could be very young and healthy and desirable or have they just touched and infected doorknob or handle or railing somewhere?

However, once again the conditions have to be ideal for the virus to live for you to get it from a doorknob, handle or railing. More likely you would get it shaking hands with someone or touching someone or getting sneezed upon more than anything else. And this person might be perfectly healthy and just be a carrier and never  get it at any point.

So, if it's below freezing and you touch and outside doorknob (if your hand doesn't freeze to it) you likely aren't going to get anything. But, if you are indoors touching anything above 50 or 60 degrees or if you are shaking hands with people or even exchanging money or goods or services with people you might get it that way. So, watch out being indoors in public places and shaking the hands of people and touching things or exchanging money or things like this.
