When I was studying the most with Tibetan Lamas during the 1980s I heard them speak about the "Whispered Lineage" and wondered what that was all about. Over time I came to realize that it is when someone calms their mind through good thoughts and actions (in whatever religion or philosophy you are in) and you begin to "listen to the angels". But, there are angels who don't have physical bodies anymore (or never did) and there are angels presently in physical form. There are both kinds.
So, the "Whispered Lineage" is about developing as a Good Being to the point where you can hear the angels (both in bodies and out of bodies) so they can tell you what to do next to help your soul and other souls along the way.
This is literally "Life or Death" for human beings at each and every point.
When you can listen to the angels (both living and passed over or living permanently over) then you fulfill God's plan to the highest degree and honor both yourself and God and All mankind to the highest degree.
Doing this is really what "Success in the Eyes of God" is all about.
