Both Harris and Pence are very polished and polite politicians you could see that are used to getting things done.
So, the American public, instead of being horrified to the point of apoplexy by Trump like Debate they were treated to a normal more boring debate this time.
But, the public could also see either Harris or Pence as Presidential material should that come to pass.
In other words, they both looked Presidential even as Trump more and more just sounds more insane in everything he does during and since the debates, especially as medicated as he presently is on Steroids.
