So, I have already been a blogger even before they called it that at this point. I started my first blog in HTML because auto-encoders didn't exist then or if they did there was none at geocities.com which is where I had my first blog site then. Then I heard about Blogspot and blogger.com in 2007 and heard about the auto-encoders here and thought I would try blogging here. I also converted my geocities website into a Yahoo business paid website even though blogger.com is free through Google and goes worldwide.
I started dragonofcompassion.com for the longer things I write beyond an article which are more in the form of short stories to book length things that I write.
On one level I see myself as more of a story teller than a writer simply because I hate to edit and struggle a lot with editing. I don't have a problem fixing spelling or context but when I go beyond that I feel I"m damaging my "children" which is often how I see what I write when it is over 500 to 1000 words long. The more time you have invested in something the more it becomes like "One of your children" and I personally find it difficult to edit these kinds of things I write because they become "larger than life" just like your real children often do in life too where the sum of it's parts is gigantically greater than it's pieces.
And like my children who always seem to be like one of my arms or legs that eventually grow up and walk away and live their own lives, one's writing is sort of like this too as it goes out and changes the culture of the world worldwide in various ways over time.
In a way I write to change the world to make it a much better place than the one I grew up in (even as Global Warming and the 6th Great Extinction slowly or quickly kills us all this century).
However, if you have ever watched Apollo 13 the movie you see the true story of how human beings that should have died still found a way to survive! And there is a lesson there for all of us that likely we aren't going extinct no matter how few of us there are left here on earth.....
By God's Grace
