As the ocean rises, coastal flooding will ONLY increase worldwide. Since around 75% of the world is oceans and water it's important to realize what is happening

I think the first place I noticed coastal flooding was on Maui betweeh Kihei and Lahaina on the lower coastal road because the waves were coming onto the road as I drove my rental car from the Lahaina area to Kahului Airport to return to San Francisco, California and the mainland. I realized this wasn't going to be workable in a few years. Since then Maui built a road (much higher on the hills) so when waves are crashing onto the lower road there you can still drive from Kihei, Maui to Lahaina Maui as well as all the way around the island going in that direction back to Wailuku and Kahului where the Airport is.

However, then this year the flooding came much closer to home in California but made me realize why we bought a home in 1999 more than 1 mile from the ocean. This year I noticed major erosion of ice plants and sand from beaches as well as 50 to 100 pound rocks from the ocean being thrown across coastal roads and fallen trees washed down rivers rammed through wooden fences along the beach and ocean and coastal roads. It's true in the past I have seen 35 foot waves with people surfing on these waves nearby but using a jet ski during storms so they wouldn't die doing this (the jet ski picks them up before they crash on the rocks nearby after riding a 35 foot wave on a surfboard.

So, smashed wooden fences, golf carts buried in the surf on golf courses over run with the ocean on some links, people picking up 100 pound rocks thrown onto coastal roads, ice plant thrown hundreds of feet onto roads and people's porches sometimes. All these things are happening in places like Northern California and Maui and places like this around the world as the seas rise universally and destroy coastal roads and villages and cities from Miami to Kaanapali and all the way around the world especially during storms with big waves at high tide worldwide.
