It's supposed to rain sometime between tonight and tomorrow Saturday. The high here I think is around 63 degrees. So, we are definitely into more of a winter cycle of weather with night time temperatures this low. When you get into the 40s often homeless people without shelter from the weather start to die even here in California. However, generally speaking more homeless people survive here too than most other States in the lower 48 for a variety of reasons especially around San Francisco.
The sun is up so there is at least solar heating for our house which was very well designed for solar heating through many windows in the Winter time. The design allows the eves to protect the inside of the house from Summer sun and it has shutters that allow us to shut out the sun on really hot days too. But, the design also allows the lower winter sun into the house too which heats up our house on sunny days so we can usually turn our heater system off about 6 months of the year at least during the day if it is sunny enough that day.
This is all really good because most people here on the coast even in expensive homes don't have air conditioning simply because you might only need air conditioning either not at all that year or only for a few days. However, with weather changing from global Climate changes that might start to change these next few years too. It's hard to say.
Also, we go off of Daylight Savings Time this weekend if you live in California or any state that still has Daylight Savings time during the summers.
