This is pretty cold in the morning for here but then it could be close to zero where you live too. I was communicating with my son in Portland and he was telling me that the sun now goes down by 4 pm. I told him here in California it is going down by 4:50 pm and how it goes down so early now that when it's 8 pm my wife and I think it's 10 pm because we are used to much longer periods of Daylight. So, we both will be happy when the days start getting longer on the 21st of December the shortest day of the year.
However, during the day (by noon or 1 pm) today it's supposed to be 63 degrees which is warm enough to sit outside under a beach umbrella at an outside glass table on our deck here within a mile of the ocean. It's nice to have it sunny especially when it's this cold early in the morning.
Last night the stars were the clearest I have seen them all year and very bright since there are no street lights where we live to muck up seeing the stars here and we are up against the ocean so it can be very beautiful here at night looking up at the stars and the Milky Way Galaxy. So, when I took our corgi dog outside to do her business late last night I got an amazing view of the night sky all clear and crisp but also pretty cold out for here too.
Also, it went down to
37 degrees in Paso Robles inland from here
and 43 degrees in Morgan Hill also inland from the coast
and down to 41 degrees in Sacramento last night as well.
