I'm thinking that it is possible that when Maldek blew up from nuclear weapons where most of our ancestors lived around 65 million years ago and created the asteroid belt that several different things happened.
1. Mars became uninhabitable (at least on it's surface because of all the asteroids that hit there blew away much of the atmosphere and water.
2. Ganymede the moon could have been part of the ocean and maybe at it's core was a submarine on Maldek when it blew up.
3. Earth received one of the asteroids in Yucatan that killed all the larger dinosaurs.
These are 3 of the many things that happened when nuclear weapons blew up one of our ancestors planets 65 million years ago. Of course many other things happened to the Solar system and beyond too from this one event where the whole planet and it's atmosphere and it's oceans went out into space. The water mostly froze in space like on Ganymede.
So, the people who survived (mostly military families and diplomat families) they moved to Mars but that didn't work out because more asteroids kept hitting there over time. So, those not rich enough to travel to other solar systems where we genetically came from chose to settle Earth after all the larger dinosaurs died or had to move into the water to survive.
