In the 1960s and 1970s many people came to the conclusion that humans had lost their way in the big cities of the world

Many in my generation then agreed with this premise and became a part of the "Back to the Land" movement starting around 1965 or so in San Francisco. It spread worldwide from then and I don't think the "Back to the Land Movement has ever really stopped.

However, the problem now is that raw bare land in the wilderness has become so much more expensive than before. However, I still think it's worthwhile to live on your own land and to build your own home for yourself and your family.

Imagine never having to pay rent ever again. and often if you build your own home you never will have a mortgage on it either unless you pay on time for the land and that's all.
