However, the hospital location is at least 2 hours from here and traffic can be bad in the SF Bay area. So, she left about 9 am and got back about 5 pm Saturday. Then she wanted to travel south today to Santa Barbara and I knew at almost 70 this might be too much for her. But, I realized I could drive and I wasn't afraid to let the car drive for me mostly like she tends to be. My oldest daughter and I are much more comfortable with AI and other computer technology in Cars and elsewhere now than my wife tends to be.
So, for me, driving south mostly will be restful sort of like a foreman supervising fellow worker, (the worker being the AI and computer technology in the car when it drives itself and steers itself long distances. However, as you know it isn't that useful in all situations when traffic or corners or hills are involved or other unusual driving contitions like Rain, Snow, Mud or any unusual obstacles in the way of where you are trying to get to.
But, I find about 80% of the drive or more to Santa Barbara I can usually allow the car to basically drive itself and I find this much more restful than fully driving the car myself. So, at the end of a 4 to 6 hour trip I feel much more rested than I would have if I had fully driven all aspects of the car all the way to a destination.
However, To each his own.
So, I woke up this morning to a very grumpy wife which was difficult but my difficult day was yesterday wondering whether two people we knew (one she was visiting) were going to die or not. So far, they both are still alive and kicking and one of them is 95 years old still with all her marbles which is amazing in itself.
So, we live in a pretty amazing world where people (especially women live into their 90s and 100s pretty regularly now).
By God's Grace
