Safe in Mt. Shasta

It took forever to go over from Casa De Fruta to Santa Nella Today. I usually don't like driving through the SF Bay area because of Traffic and the fact that I'm presently 77 years old still driving. I find that going up from Santa Nella is much more peaceful for me as long as I miss rush hour traffic from about 4 to 7 pm through Stockton and Sacramento. Once you get past Sacramento you are sort of home free regarding traffic usually.

But, today it was 2 hours from Casa De Fruta to Santa Nella which meant that instead of getting to Mt. Shasta at 6 pm we would get there around 8:30Pm instead which isn't fun for people our age.

However, the good thing is that the traffic was bearable through Stockton and Sacramento though not perfect because we decided not to buy gas until Woodland. I don't like taking my tank down to 1/4 tank for a lot of reasons so I usually fill my tank up at 1/2. I find this is safer because you never know what is going to come up in life unexpectedly for you to deal with (on any level). So, we soldiered on through STockton and Sacramento and even though it wasn't perfect it was bearable.

However, it was really beautiful to see all the bearing trees along the way from Orange Trees to likely Lemon Trees to Cherry trees to Almond trees on up Interstate 5 and other fruit trees likely as well. So, they were all green and healthy because I think in Northern California at least they got enough water this rainy season and it might rain here Saturday they said too here in Mt. Shasta.

Also, it was incredibly windy today and a lot of people really slowed down in various vehicles because they were scared and most of California (at least where it is flatter) has a RED Flag warning and we got a notice that they were shutting off the power to our SB Home. However, we now have our solar power working so likely it won't matter as long as it's sunny there (at least during the day).

Anyway, I'm glad to have our first real day of driving behind us because it's always hard to get packed and get out the door (especially if you then have to face a two hour traffic jam you haven't planned for).

The fresh mountain air is nice to be in now here at 3500 feet with Evergreen Trees and lakes all around

and on Mt. Shasta. The trees go up I think as far as tree line like where Horse Camp is at around 8000 feet I believe.
