The Components to Longevity:

The basis of longevity probably is your genetics. However, if you have access to good or superior healthcare it is possible that most of the genetic problems might be either reversed or mitigated.

The 2nd thing is psychological. If you can find a way to create a life for yourself where you are not a victim (in your own mind) (and in reality) then this helps too.

The 3rd thing I can think of is Diet. For example, if you can eat organic foods either grown by yourself or from a place like Whole Foods Market or other organic stores this is a really big deal. why?

Because the insecticides and herbicides on the plants you or the meat you are eating consumes builds up in human or any type of body and eventually will give you cancer of some kind otherwise. Also, clean air is useful too in staying alive a long time.

This is one reason why people live on the west Coast of the U.S. and Canada because the air is fairly pure and clear usually coming off the ocean after being cleaned by about 6000 miles of the Pacific ocean through storms and winds bringing detritus to sea and then it sinks along the way. So, one of the cleanest airs you are going to find on earth is the West Coast of the United States and Canada for this reason. This might include Alaska too.

Next once your physical and mental and diet is taken care of it might be helpful to you to have some sort of spiritual practice whether you believe in God or not. The calming of the mind helps you to stay alive long term.

When I moved to Mt. Shasta starting in 1976 with my first wife I noticed right away how much better I felt being able to be miles away from anyone but my immediate family. This became even more pronounced when I bought land out past McCloud in the Wilderness on the side of Mt. Shasta where we had 2 1/2 acres of land an an A-Frame House I built so it could shed the 7 feet of snow that fell when we lived there from 1980 to 1985. Once I had lived these 5 amazing years home schooling our children until the oldest was 12 I realize looking back now that these 5 years and my children are the reason I'm still alive now at age 77. NOw my Grandchildren also help me stay alive even further and further.

They say having children later in life tends to extend your life. However, I was 26 when my first child was born but I was 48 when my last child was born. So, she is about 29 now and lives in Texas with her boyfriend where they both are working now.

The point is I didn't get to be 77 years old by accident. However, I did get here by living every moment as it was happening. Being very in the present and in the moment always or "BE HERE NOW" is probably one of the main reasons I'm still alive now at 77, that and my family and friends.

By God's Grace
