To Taste Enlightenment's Nectar

IN Tibetan Buddhism often they will say "to be of One Taste" which is to be sharing the exact same experience in the way Tibetan Buddhists often Speak.

In my own search for enlightenment's nectar it took me to Mt. Shasta many times on backpacking trips from when I was living in the Los Angeles area and then the San Diego Area. I think the first time I drove north to Mt. Shasta alone without my parents would be around when I was 17 or 18 years old likely in my first VW Bug a 1965 Seablue Bug with white interior which got around 30 miles per gallon which was nice because Gas was only about 17 cents a gallon then in 1965 or 1966 when I was first starting college.

Later I met a friend that I climbed mountains with in 1969 when I had my new 1968 Camaro and we climbed first Half Dome together in Yosemite National park and then various other peaks. One of the things we both loved was being in Mt. Shasta away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

So, the first time I tried to live in Mt. Shasta with my first wife was 1974 when my son was still a baby. That lasted a short period of time. But, then we moved to Hilo, Hawaii and eventually I was a partner in a mining company in Southern California and Arizona. So, the next time I moved north with my wife and son was 1976. However, it wasn't really until I bought property in Mt. Shasta 2 1/2 acres and built a house there starting in 1980 that I really started to taste enlightenment's nectar full time which really changed my life over the next 5 years until my father passed on. So, those five years from 1980 to 1985 set the tone for the whole rest of my life in regard to enlightenment's nectar. Also, after my father passed away in August of 1985 that December of 1985 my then wife and two step kids and my son from my first wife went from December of 1985 until April of 1986 to India, Nepal, Thailand and Japan. The time spent in India and Nepal changed our lives a lot and I began to better understand what Enlightenment's nectar really was.

It is an indescribable peace 24 hours a day when you can stay in this compassionate place in your heart and mind.
