However, I found this too dangerous to live this way all the time.
What was happening to me is that God was really answering my prayers in real time.
However, everything kept changing in my life in such extreme ways that I couldn't handle all the changes.
So, my solution in my 20s was to ONLY ask God for things in emergencies.
In an emergency (trying to stay alive in your life or helping your kids or friends or relatives stay alive) makes sense to me.
In an emergency everything is all jumbled up anyway so if God literally changes everything in your life completely in answering your prayer instantly then maybe that's a good thing even though it is completely overwhelming in a way that I cannot really explain to you unless you have experienced something like this before.
For example, God will help you in ways you cannot believe but never in the way you might think.
So, it is so extreme (the changes) that it's hard to get into sync with what God was really trying to do because you are so overwhelmed by unexpected changes that you are at the edge of what you can actually deal with in life.
So, be careful when you ask God for something because it will ALWAYS come in a way you least expect.
