I think the weather is changing slowly to Fall Weather here on the Northern California Coast

For where I live on the coast within a mile of the ocean this has likely been the foggiest summer ever since about April or May of 2025. Very few days of sun at all and I don't think the weather ever got above 70 to 75 degrees. So, this is a really strange summer in that sense. People I know without the freedom to travel into the sun like my wife and I are really bummed out about the lack of sun. And even I after a few days got in my Truck or my daughter's car and drove into the sun just to experience it for a few hours this summer. One of the days we drove all the way to San Juan Bautista just to experience the sun in a new place we hadn't been before. San Juan Bautista has a Catholic Mission from the old days and I think it is also directly on the San Andreas Fault so the Mission has been destroyed by Earthquakes likely more than once and had to be rebuilt since it was first built in 1797.

Here is what AI found for me:

Mission San Juan Bautista was founded on June 24, 1797, and its large church complex was constructed between 1803 and 1812. The mission itself was the 15th to be established by the Spanish in California. end quote.

However, I think now that fall weather is coming to us finally because it is both sunny and 70 today. So, what is happening is that it might be sunny when we wake up and then the fog comes in at a later point in the day or we might wake up and it's foggy (high or low) and then it will be sunny and then it might get foggy before Sunset or any of the above.

However, the good news is that at least you are going to see the sun for a few hours at a time now and not be all socked in by high or low fog 24 hours a day forever.

However, the other side of this is it has never been 100 to 110 degrees or more here like it has been inland from the coast a lot this summer.

So, most people here along the coast do not even have air conditioners because they don't ever need them really. I for example, close the shutters to keep the temperatures in the house below about 75 degrees year around or when it gets colder turn on the central heating system. So, most people just have heaters along the coast because you might need them on any day of the year to keep your home above 65 degrees or so.
