What the Essence of Enlightenment is to me

I was raised a Mystical Christian mostly in Southern California. This allowed me to be more open to religions around the world particularly Tibetan Buddhism. However, I also studied some books like "Autobiography of a Yogi" especially the first part of this book that reminded me of my own experiences with God and Angels and Jesus and beings like Saint Germain and Archangel Michael and Mary the Mother of Jesus and others.

However, I began to see that Christianity often especially Protestant Christianity tends to be extremely racist in a variety of ways. To the point where if you are not White you are put down in various ways as being less than "White".

I saw this as wrong all my life.

So, when I found Tibetan Buddhism I found a path based upon Compassion and not Racism. However, I would also note that there are racist Buddhists (look at Myanmar against Muslims) so though for me, it became a "Path of Compassion" for all beings in the Universe. Others might experience different things.

And of course the real danger of Buddhism in Nihilism where: "If nothing is good or bad why do anything at all?"

So, my coming to Tibetan Buddhism was different because I was raised a LIbertarian Republican by my parents.

And basically a Libertarian Republican just means you can succeed or die by your own works and isn't about Social Welfare programs.

However, then I went to college and saw how Libertarian Republicans were often just Racist White folks who allowed other races to die willy nilly all around them.

So, I became over time more liberal in College and then finally realized a more moderate point of view that is neither Liberal nor Conservative is best over time.

The most important thing I realized is Common Sense in helping yourself and others is the most useful point of view if we want any humans to survive at all the next 300 years or so here on earth.

And I found learning and generating Compassion for all life in the universe is the key to this common sense approach to human survival and the survival of all life on earth and throughout the Universe.

By God's Grace
