Because we had the Arab Oil Embargo and gas went up during the 1970s from 20 cents a gallon to 1 dollar a gallon.
Imagine Gas starting say at 3 or 4 dollars a gallon and then multiply that by 5 to 15 or 16 dollars a gallon within 10 years!
This devastated everyone in the U.S. who wasn't rich and slowed people down a lot because for example in 1969 you could buy about 6 gallons of gas if you worked even for minimum wage then on your hourly way for one hours work. So, you can imagine what happened to food prices and gas prices and the price of anything shipped during these times.
WILL WE SEE 16 DOLLAR PER GALLON GAS HERE IN THE U.S.?
If Trump stays in power we likely will.
But, who really fully knows what the future will bring.
