The first mind boggling thing to think about regarding all this is this concept: "Iran was the biggest national supporter of Terrorism on Earth."
I think they have now been eclipsed by the Islamic Nation. And to make it even crazier they are competing terrorists who will kill each other at the drop of a hat or less. (Iran versus the Islamic Nation or ISIL). Because Iran creates Shia terrorists, and ISIL creates Sunni Terrorists like Osama Bin Laden was.
So, the world might think "Chess Style" that Iran's terrorists and ISIL's terrorists will neutralize each other? That is thinking only in traditional warfare but here we are living with complete asymmetric warfare that is completely unconventional with completely different ways to finance whatever they do. So ISIL is Iran 10.0 on a terrorist level. In other words for the present ISIL (because of it's experience fighting so long) creates more bang for the buck than Iran does presently. So, just like the U.S. is at a disadvantage right now so is Iran in trying to fight ISIL. It is like trying to fight or catch the wind (the wind just blows around you and goes somewhere else and fights again). So, I completely agree with General Keane. This is much more problematic than Bin Laden ever was.

Gen. Keane: ISIL Threat ‘Dwarfs What the Old Al Qaeda Was’
Gen. Jack Keane warned of the severe threat Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant poses to the United States.
“ISIL is the most serious threat the Middle East has had in the post-9/11 era and actually it dwarfs the so-called 9/11 al-Qaeda used to be,” Keane told Fox News’ host Bill Hemmer Monday morning.
He warned that ISIL is a breeding ground for terrorist fighters hailing from Europe, the Middle East, and from the United States. “This is a growing menace to the United States and it already is a menace to the Middle East,” he said.
The United States has so far failed to act. Keane recommended shifting our country’s focus to ISIL and onto the “political complex situation in Iraq.” “We should get after them…We should take this down now,” Keane suggested and warned of the time sensitive nature of the growing and successful ISIL threat.

However, I completely disagree with General Keane about us climbing into the middle of this. This is a no win situation for the U.S. until we can act in some way that doesn't put us on either side: either Shia or Sunni. This is a Shia Sunni War and we don't want it spilling over into the United States like it presently is spilling over into Iraq and Lebanon. Jumping in on either side right now is just going to bring this war into the U.S. in another 9-11. We should know better by now.
We are witnessing a phenomenon that likely has been building for about 1000 years already between Shias and Sunnis. It was likely going to happen sooner or later but we might be witnessing a 10 to 100 year war. Do we really want into the middle of this and have the mainland U.S. another battleground for this war like Syria, Iraq and Lebanon already are?
