No Incumbants?

I saw a bumper sticker today that was "Incumbents" with a line drawn through it which means. Vote all incumbents out.

I think most Americans agree with this if you look at these polls from:
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/congressional_job_approval-903.html

The above are polls regarding the U.S. Congress. The reason the American people are so unhappy with Congress is that these polls demonstrate the U.S. is no longer a democracy (at least at this point).

Instead, de facto, we are a plutocracy:
plu·toc·ra·cy
plo͞oˈtäkrəsē/
noun
noun: plutocracy
  1. government by the wealthy.
    • a country or society governed by the wealthy.
      plural noun: plutocracies
    • an elite or ruling class of people whose power derives from their wealth.
Origin
mid 17th century: from Greek ploutokratia, from ploutos ‘wealth’ + kratos ‘strength, authority.’
Translate plutocracy to
Use over time for: plutocracy

The polls evidence that the U.S. is presently a plutocracy. This is also evident by recent Surpreme Court Rulings as well.

However, governments tend to run in cycles and hopefully the people will rise up like during the 1930s and 1960s once again through demonstrations and civil disobedience to return the U.S. to a democracy once again.

In the 1930s the people rose up because of the Great Depression and the misuse of America's resources by the wealthy to create Unions which created a viable middle Class. However, in the 1980s Reagan through Union Busting began the demise of the Middle Class in the U.S.

In the 1960's it was about human and civil rights because the middle class was strong and working still then. It wasn't until the 1980s and 1990s when the seedbed of the middle class was destroyed to get to where we are today.

So, unless people rise up like they did in the 1930s and 1960s we are moving towards a plutocracy and a dictatorship eventually.

A government can only be a reflection of the people. So, when you look worldwide every government you see is a reflection of the people's will or not caring. Either one or both.

Every democracy needs to be maintained by the people or it tends to fall into a plutocracy eventually or even worse an outright dictatorship.
