Trying to make sense of what is happening in the Middle East

If you might wonder why Assad is still in power he had to pay off ISIL to do that with oil wells and land and whatever else he had to do. However, given that Israel is the kind of country that makes deals (or does whatever is necessary) to stay in one piece too. So, now I'm hearing the anger from Iran about how ISIL didn't step in to help HAMAS the last week or so. Why is that?

I'm thinking that Saudi Arabia's Ace in the Hole (from their point of view) is Israel. Why is this? Because Israel is protected by the U.S. and also to a degree by the European Union and Nato as well. So, by Saudi Arabia (which likely is also one of the biggest supporters of ISIL) through rich individuals thre (secretly) there likely is some kind of deal that has been worked out now for ISIL not to attack Israel without Saudi Arabia's go ahead. (which might mean never). So, just like Iran's main idea is to permanently end Israel and Saudi Arabia, Israel and Saudi Arabia's main goal is to permanently end Iran. However, then there is Russia that is aligned with Iran (at least since 1980 or so).

So, what does all this mean? It likely means that ISIL because it's primary country funder is individuals from Saudi Arabia (but not the government itself) this likely means ISIL is being controlled by the richest supporters of ISIL to some degree in what they have agreed to do and what they have agreed not to do. So, in return or these agreements Saudi Arabia and Israel won't attack ISIL likely but Assad might even though he has given ISIL what they needed to take over most of Syria and most of Iraq already. So, what happens next?

What is going on is too crazy even for me to completely ferret out. But, what I wrote is what I think likely is going on behind closed doors.

Here are a bunch of articles on ISIL. However, I couldn't make enough sense out of them to put them in full here at my site. If I can't make enough sense out of what I read and I'm retired with enough time to read and to think about it, then how can I expect you to make some sense out of it since you might have a 9 to 5 job or more to keep you busy and I'm retired? So, if you are interested here is what I found on ISIL today:
