Bremmer: Technology isn't the end of work—it's the...
If you want to read Bremmer's article about this the full name if you click above is: "Bremmer: Technology isn't the end of work it's the end of Oil."
However, when he says this it is sort of like in 1930 saying, "Technology and Planes aren't the end of walking or riding in ships, it is the end of Big ships like the Titanic."
Because oil in various forms is going to be around us for hundreds or thousands of years to come until it all runs out and we have replaced it with something else (at least for lubrication and plastics).
But, it is true oil will never be again what it was from the 1940s to the 1990s for the world as sort of a currency in itself for the world to run on.
The reason for this of course is solar energy which by 2025 will be the cheapest energy cost wise in literally ever nation on earth. It's already the cheapest energy in California and India and possibly China and likely many more countries to come as well.
In regard to technology not being the end of work, the big word likely would be "YET" because not until 2025 also or 2020 will your Iphone be smarter than you are.
The thought of your phone being smarter than you are is sort of unnerving don't you think?
However, this is actually what likely is coming by 2025.
So, by 2025 this likely will start to be the "End of Jobs" for all manual laborers and truck drivers and cab drivers on earth.
However, for liability reasons I believe all self driving cars and trucks and buses in most countries are going to require someone there to save everyone in an emergency.
Why?
Because of liability.
Companies who make these things (Self driving cars, trucks and buses) don't want liability for them so they way to do this would be to hire someone to just sit there and wait for emergencies sort of like how Airline pilot are now who mostly only fly less than 10 minutes during any domestic flight now (landings and takeoffs) and are on autopilot the rest of the time now.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
