This is unusual because Seaweed mostly comes ashore in storms which pull the root balls loose from the bottom of the ocean. Where I live fish use the seaweed like fish in Hawaii use the coral to hide in away from the bigger fish that can eat them. So, when seaweed comes into the shore on the beaches in the summers and fall it leaves many fish unprotected I believe. So, there are consequences for all these changes. However, just like with coral bleaching white from the heat many places the wind and storms dislodging seaweed so much during the summers and falls is also likely harmful to the smaller fish that survive by hiding in the kelp and seaweed.
I think I need to use the word kelp beds to reference this because that is what I'm actually talking about. Though Seaweed is also appropriate, kelp beds is more useful in what I'm writing about here.
