I decided to not take my Crocs off walking the dog today along the beach simply because the wind made it too cold. Today was the first day when I wore a heavier winter jacket with a hood to the beach. I had to be a little careful because my Corgi is pretty close to the ground and I didn't want sand to blow into her eyes. Luckily, there was a series of redwood steps closer to the beach so I could protect her eyes some from the sand blowing. even in the parking lot sand was building up and likely could be as high as a foot some places in the parking lot by morning. I can see why they were worried about people being swept away by 10 to 15 foot waves from the 1st through the 4th. Also, I had to have my wife park where our car wouldn't be sand blasted by the sand blowing too while I walked our Corgi on the beach near sunset.
It was 59 degrees but the wind and humidity in the air made it feel much colder and it was harder than normal to stay warm. But, I think I'm still adjusting to the more common stormy weather of from now until March or April along the NOrthern Coast of California.
