Today I looked up the coast from Walking my dog on the Beach and it was raining in the SF Bay Area

It was a blustery day today as Winnie the Poo would say and windy everywhere. I had to be very very careful walking my dog along the particular beach and be ready to run from rogue waves also today. If I looked inland to the SouthEast I could see cirrus clouds that were very beautiful. But, when I looked out to sea I saw 7 to 10 foot waves with white Caps. This is the weather you do NOT want to be out to sea in anything less than maybe 50 to 100 feet ship of some kind and sailing there is too much wind to safely sail in this either even if you had the stomach for bouncing over the choppy stormy seas. So, today I saw no boats at all out on the ocean because it is just too rough.

The rain chances where I live are as follows

Wednesday today 30% chance of rain but none so far as of 5 pm Wednesday

Thursday 10% chance of Rain

Friday 80% chance of Rain

Saturday 40% chance of Rain

Sunday 70% chance of rain.

There are also two storms here:

The Bomb Cyclone and the Atmospheric River combined are the first storm causing a lot of havoc now north of Marin County all the way into Canada where there were 400,000 people without power at midnight last and one dead from the storm as of last night Tuesday.

So, some people are going to have to deal with snow or rain ongoing from last night until the following Wednesday with no let up at all especially around Healdsburg and Mt. Shasta in Siskiyou county for example. In other words 8 days of snow and rain in places from San Francisco north into Canada on the coast.

Interstate 5 is still closed from Fawndale rd. redding, California  north all the way to 21 miles south of Yreka so likely either you would have to go inland up 101 into Oregon or some other route that you might be able to drive through if you are going there now. The least likely to see snow (even though it could be snowing some places along 101 too) is 101. But, flying north to Oregon or Washington likely right now is your best bet because of conditions EVERYWHERE in Siskiyou County all the way to Ashland, Oregon with snow right now.
